Coffee Barista's needed now for new Starbucks opening at Digbeth Coach Station
CALLING ALL EXPERIENCED BARISTAS FOR IMMEDIATE STARTS ! . . .
The Role . . .
Digbeth Coach station has an exciting new development planned for November 2009 – SSP UK are introducing a very popular, world famous coffee brand to our existing operations at the station. We are now recruiting experienced Baristas for this new store opening. Ensuring good health & safety and hygiene practices are followed, Baristas have a very important role in our business as they make the coffees that our customers return for – whether it’s a Cappuccino, Latte, Americano or Espresso, the quality has to be superb every time so that our reputation for great coffee is upheld with every sale. It is a great, sociable atmosphere to work in, so we encourage you to let your personality shine and enjoy the customer interaction to help make their experience with us a pleasant one. If you’re looking for a career not just a job, you will be supported and encouraged to take ownership for your future development and succession into supervisory roles through our various development programmes. The store will be open from 6.30am to 9pm, therefore all candidates should be available to work shifts according to the needs of the business. Earliest start would be 5.30am to prepare for opening and latest finish 9.30pm.
Skills Required . . .
This is a customer facing role requiring excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for great coffee and a customer focused approach. With your experience in high quality coffee retail (or similar business), you’ll be able to demonstrate a background of successfully delivering excellent service to our customers and exceeding their expectation. Stations are fast paced environments where customers don’t want to be queuing as it’s likely they’ve got a bus to catch! Therefore, you’ll need to keep your composure, think on your feet and be a reliable team player with good communications skills. You should also be experienced in working with a diverse team of people and customer base. We will give you a full induction and training so you can carry out your role within SSP’s high quality standards, however, it is important that you have a customer focused attitude and have a passion for the business. Full time employees' training will include spending time in a ‘Starbucks’ store to learn all about their ‘brand’ standards and ways of working. All candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
Salary & Benefits . . .
In return for your skills and experience, we offer a competitive hourly rate (£5.80 p/hr) plus bonus incentive (up to £6.30 p/hr), 28 days holiday, pension (after qualifying period), free uniform, free meal on duty and discounts off most of our other brands. Along with the prestige of this position, our scope and variety means we also offer superb career opportunities and development programmes to get you to the next level if you want to progress to more senior management roles – further information available on our website ssp-careers.com. We can also offer career development within different brands, sites or support functions within SSP. With so much on offer - a variety of hours, great benefits, a fantastic team culture, excellent training, and all with the thrill of working within the busy station - it’s not where you start with us, but when!
