Treatments last 45min-1hour.
I hold VTCT level 3 in sports and Swedish massage, with 7 years experience, 4 years working at wolves football academy.

I am based at a reputable health and fitness club where I am also personal trainer holding NCFE level 3 Personal Training award & NCFE level 3 Teaching certificate in exercise studies.

One to One training to suit your needs.

What are the origins of massage therapy?

Massage is one of the most natural forms of medical care. It is considered to be one of the oldest treatments used by mankind and was used as early as 300 BC as a therapy in the Far East.
Massage has developed in every continent, and is used in every culture, and there are over 90 different kinds in total. It is a completely natural therapy that treats most musculoskeletal problems and is effective because it enhances blood flow, which aids the healing process.

How many sessions do you typically need to feel the benefits?

Every person requires an assessment to decide how many treatments are needed. This can vary between around four sessions to ongoing weekly or monthly sessions. Once a person feels the benefits of massage, they often have regular treatments to maintain a feeling of health and wellbeing, and as injury prevention.

How can massage help with common aches and pains, such as stiff lower back, stiff shoulders, sore wrists and arms?

The most common type of massage for injuries is sport/remedial massage.
This is deep-tissue massage that assists in muscle, ligament and tendon injuries. The stroking movements in massage pull fluid through the blood vessels. This is a must for tight or damaged muscle tissue, as a tight muscle will be deprived of blood, therefore depriving the tissues of vital nutrients and energy to repair. Deep-tissue massage helps remove waste products like lactic acid and helps the muscles absorb oxygen and nutrients, which helps to enhance recovery time. Massage can also stretch tissues that would not otherwise be stretched and helps release tension.

Your massage should be invigorating and relaxing, so therefore before the massage I always ask questions so that I can correctly assess your treatment needs. The more comfortable you feel with me, the more you’ll relax, therefore making the treatment the best it can be.
