A Substance Misuse Service in the West Midlands area requires an experience Substance Misuse Nurse to join their team, providing support and counselling to clients with opiate addiction issues.
Experience working with substance misuse clients is essential as is a Nursing Qualification.
The successful candidate will join the existing team that run a tier 2/3 service. The role will involve managing your own caseload, conducting assessments and engaging clients in a range of therapies including cognitive behavioural therapy and motivational interviewing as well as providing harm minimisation advice and working closely alongside the other staff, developing care and treatment plans and assisting on site GPs with prescriptions for substitute medication including methadone and subutex.
The role may also be extended beyond the initial contract duration and provide the opportunity to gain experience working within a statutory environment.
