1st Churchill Scout Group is an energetic and vibrant Scout Group who are offering young people in Redditch a fantastic opportunity to try some Scouting skills during a free Taster Session.

There will be an opportunity to have a go at Indoor climbing on their purpose built climbing wall. Pioneering, Cooking and Pitching Tents will also be on offer to try along with the essential Scouting skill of how to tie a knot.
Lyn Etheridge the Group Scout Leader said “Its an ideal opportunity for the local families to find out what Scouts is all about and the kind of fun activities we do every week. Scouts is family friendly and we welcome new kids who want to join us.”
The Scout Group has its own premises which includes a large indoor space and purpose built climbing wall. The Scout Hut also boasts a safe outside area which the group often uses for BBQs and outdoor activities.
Chris a Beaver Scout Leader said “ The Scouts love to be here, it’s a place where they can have safe adventure and learn new things, we’re lucky to have this space.”
Scouting is open to boys and girls from 6 years and is a great way for them to make friends and have some fun whilst trying new things and earning badges. Scouts is also value for money, being a charity and using volunteers as youth leaders means we can keep membership costs down, in this credit crunch that’s a real bonus for families
The free event is on Sunday 20th September from 2pm till 4pm and is at the Scout Hut on Edgworth Close, Churchill South. Entry and all activities are free and there will be light refreshments.
