Business Development Manager
Business development Manager / Business Manager / Technical Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Manager / Account Manager is required to work for a specialist organisation based in the Worcestershire area.
Established over 30 years ago our client has grown to become a leading supplier of gases to the industrial, educational, research and leisure markets. As a specialist within their field our client also offers an extensive range of Engineering Services, from the provision of turnkey installations to consultancy and design work for new projects. Due to their ongoing success and development our client are actively seeking a Business development Manager / Business Manager / Technical Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Manager / Account Manager to take full management responsibility for the commercial aspects of the organisations special gases and mixtures divisions. To develop business plans (including the development of new product and service offerings) to enhance the company's market share in existing markets and identify and exploit new niches.
Key Duties include:
* To take full management responsibility for all field sales, account management and marketing aspects of SG&M in order to achieve Business Plan goal for these items.
* Develop and instigate commercial business plans for SG&M.
* To develop profitable new business via internal and external sales across all product lines.
* To successfully manage the activities of your reporting line to achieve KPI's and ensure operational excellence.
* Take full responsibility for SG&M marketing activities including literature, press releases, advertising and exhibitions.
* To identify and personally manage major accounts, distributors, agents or major prospects within the Special Gases portfolio.
* To participate within cross-company groups and activities to ensure SG&M benefit from any company-wide initiatives and to maintain a high departmental profile within the business.
* Identify and develop profitable new niches/markets for the product offering.
* Develop and deliver new offerings to satisfy market requirements.
Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager and with considerable exposure to the Executive Board, you will take overall commercial and marketing responsibility for the Special Gases and Mixtures business, including all channels to market in both UK and International territories. This will not only involve managing field sales activities but personally developing business through the acquisition and maintenance of major accounts and distributors. Your marketing skills will mean that you will also gain market intelligence to develop and successfully launch new products and services to the sector
You will be educated to degree level in a technical subject such as Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and have had a successful career in the commercial management of a technical product offering for an extensive period of time. You are motivated by results and have a strong track record of success in highly competitive markets. You will be a skilled communicator and natural networker, with the gravitas to quickly gain respect both internally and from a highly technical market sector. This role will be home based but will require significant time at our Head Office in Worcester and of course considerable UK and International travel.
