A Children with Disabilities Team in Worcestershire is seeking a temporary part time Team Manager for a period of three - six months pending recruitment.

The service embraces all of the elements of Every Disabled Child Matters and supports the delivery of the Aiming High for Disabled Children Agenda. You will manage one of three Children with Disability teams in the county including a Consultant Social Worker who has a management support function. The team is involved in all aspects of social work with families including assessment; statutory work; safeguarding; looked after children and general support. Staff work closely with all other agencies and in particular there are close working relationships with Health colleagues. You will work closely with the other specialist teams and their respective Team Managers on all of the above matters to ensure a consistent service across the county.

You must have a proven background in social work and you should also be able to demonstrate substantial experience in case management and supervision of social care staff. In addition you must have direct experience of safeguarding procedures, be able to make sound judgements under pressure and also promote the highest possible standards of practice. Knowledge and experience of working with children with disabilities would be advantageous, but is not essential.
