English and Chinese speaking part time staff member needed for busy family -run takeaway in the Great Barr area.

Hours are set. You'll work every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6pm to 11pm. Hourly wage will be £5.80.

The takeaway's in a residential area of Great Barr. It's expensively decorated to high spec, so you'll have a nice working environment. If you need to travel by bus the number 16 bus (to and from Birmingham every 10 mins) comes pass the shop. There is a private car park for you if you have your own car.

Responsibilities will include:
- wiping down windows
- sweeping the counter area
- taking orders over the phone and from people coming into the shop
- handle the till and do a tally of the day's takings for the owner
- give the driver detailed directions for deliveries (using googlemaps on the shop laptop)
- build rapport with customers by being chatty and welcoming
- hand out, keep a track and stamp loyalty cards from customers (buy 6 meals and get 1 free)
- update the phone address book with new customer details
- hand out promotional flyers to customers in the shop (new flyers etc.)
- give the owner (who is normally around Thurs to Sun) a quick 5 minute weekly update over the phone on how things have been at the shop

You won't need to wear a uniform but you do need to be well presented. We need someone who is confident, can multi task and will use their own initiative.

When there is downtime in the shop, you can watch TV, bring books, magazines or work (if your a student) to do and use the shop laptop (which has full internet access) as long as all the duties are done and your own top of the orders and customers.

Looking for someone to start immediately. No prior experience needed but we are looking for someone who will work hard when it's busy at the shop and fit in well the other staff. Your English needs to be really strong and ideally your first language.

This is an ideal job for a student in the Birmingham/Black Country area looking for a part time job that won't interfere with their studies or full time mum/dad looking to get back into work for a couple of days.

Wages can be paid every two weeks or every four. This will be decided at the interview.
