The Company
Expansion and continued growth of this well established national Building Services and FM Contractor has created an interesting and challenging new opportunity to set up, manage and develop a Sustainability Division. The role entails working within and the opportunity to lead the Energy and Sustainability team in terms of building energy simulation and reporting to support design projects with regard to the development of Building Services Engineering solutions.
The Role
The successful candidate will work with and report to the Regional Director. The candidate will have an extensive role in the development and analysis of engineering strategies that promote low carbon buildings. This will be from scheme inception through to determining the technical engineering strategies working in conjunction with our mechanical and electrical services design engineers. You will be responsible for business development, working in conjunction with other departmental heads looking to offer existing and new clients an enhanced service.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be academically qualified in a relevant discipline with previous experience and be capable of actively contributing, developing and analysing concept design options for proposed buildings including factors such as orientation, daylight and ventilation strategies and construction as well as the thermal performance and overheating scenarios that result from the related option appraisals.
The ability of the individual should also extend to a thorough understanding of low and zero carbon technologies and the impact that their inclusion can have upon Building Regulations compliance and meeting the obligations of any associated Renewable Energy Obligation.
You must be client facing, possess strong communication skills and be comfortable presenting to clients.
Any candidate should be both customer and commercially focused and be able to contribute to the company's projects for both public and private sector clients.
