Would you like to help make an amateur sci fi film?
This is a non profit making ad and is not a business related venture. It is 100% amateur.
I am in the late planning stages a sci fi movie parody based on Blade Runner. The script is complete and a few parts are cast. I have a semi pro camera (Canon XM2) and can edit digitally but I need people with enthusiasm and drive to help make this happen. I have no formal qualifications in the field although I have helped on professional ventures before including camera work at the 2002 Doctor Who convention using full size professional equipment
*****I cannot offer payment this will be an adventure and a bit of fun for us all.******* Please note tat altyhough this is an amateur film I will look to produce it to a high standard so we wont have time for "dossing"!
There is no nudity or such like although there may be some basic stunts (running jumping etc)
We have a semi pro make up artist involved who can make very convincing prosthetics. Several of the actors may be required to wear simple make up such as a bullet wound to the head, which would be applied by our artist and would be on one day only.
To maximise your time, we would look to film all your scenes in one day or at the most weekends so that it does not drag on for you.
I am looking for three females (25 to 35 approx) one of whom will hopefully be "gothy" or be prepared to have a freaky white hair do a la darryl Hannah in the movie. This person will be required to do a few stunts such as running and a basic fight scene.The others may come in any size shape or colour depending on acting talent! The ability to play the piano would be of advantage - evenif you are not actually seen playing it on screen!
Ability to speak in an American Accent is preferred but not essential (my wife's American and she would help coach dialog delivery!)
I am looking for male amateur actors and if I could find Asian/oriental guys or hispanic looking - for the various chacters that inhabit the world we create -so much the better. We will also need white and/or black actors.
Filming would take place weekends and possibly some evenings (particularly outside scenes in China Town Birmingham) from October onwards but I want to rehearse before hand.
If you are skilled or enthusiastic in sound recording and or camera operation or if you own a decent camcorder (such as the Canon XM2) and tripod, and would be willing to take part please contact me ASAP. At this stage I am not looking to shoot in HD although a camcorder with 16:9 and "film look" modes would be helpful
