Our client school is one of the largest schools in the UK and oversubscribed year on year, they are a Group 8 11-19 comprehensive school situated some five miles north of Birmingham city centre. It is a co-educational Foundation School based on a single site.
They are looking to recruit an enthusiastic RE teacher who is able to motivating pupils to achieve their full potential. You will be able to teach across the full age and ability range and will be a strong team player with a willingness to share ideas and to develop yourself professionally.
Last year, the RE Department rebranded itself as the PCE Department - Philosophy, Citizenship and Ethics. The change of name reflects the Department's aim to considerably widen the scope of its activities.
'Citizenship' in particular has been integrated into all schemes of work from Year 7 upwards and has been successfully linked to the study of religion and ethics.
The Department is considering the development of a range of new examination courses to reflect this widening scope of activity.
They are happy to consider applications from experienced teachers or from NQTs. We have an NQT Induction Programme which is recognised by the Local Authority as an exemplar of outstanding practice.
