Anyone remember gaming from the 80’s and early 90’s? Meeting up with your mates to play the latest games on the Commodore Amiga, with plenty of laughs in the process. These days, whilst the spec of consoles rival that of super computers, the battles between two dueling players has only been fought on the Internet over cyberspace.

All that is about to change! Yep, on October the 10th we aim to re-create the gaming from years gone by with a UK Championships of Kick Off 2 (on real Amiga’s no less) within the beating pulse of the Kick Off 2 heart…the West Midlands (Holiday Inn, J2 M5 to be precise)
The Kick Off Association (www.ko-gathering.com) was created back in 2001 where the founding member and co-programmer, Steve Screech organized a seemingly small tournament – but when people from all over Europe booked Hotels and Flights, he had no alternative to call it the World Cup!

We didn’t get much publicity outside of Kick Off circles, but the West Midlands organized the 2008 UK Champs at the Holiday Inn at J2 of the M5 and 15 combatants lined up to do battle. See here for all the pictures and fun that was had. http://ko-gathering.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=14739

This year we’re trying to get even more new players that have never played the game and also players who had a dabble years ago and haven’t picked it up since. Whomever you are, if you are reading this then you have the power within you to compete and become a member of one of the biggest retro gaming websites in the process. Fans of all football teams will be attending from all the UK. We have fans of Forest, Sheffield United, Birmingham City, Aston Villa…wear your colours and wear them with pride.

We don’t deal in any other games, we just deal in Kick Off. Maybe you enjoyed other games more during your early years? Maybe, maybe not. But no matter your skill level or experience, this tournament will be for you. Players of all levels will be present and trophies will be given out.

Go on, experience all the laughter and excitement of a game of football. Experience a football game where in the last seconds you have a chance of clawing 2 goals back. But more of all, experience what gaming used to be like…forgetting the credit crunch, forgetting the bills and just competing with a bunch of mates at the beautiful game.
