Urgent Vacancy For Self-Employed Youth Worker & Assistant Youth Worker
BLISS 4 ALL VOLUNTEERS BASED IN KINGS KORTON IS LOOKING TO RECRUIT AN EXPERIENCED YOUTH WORKER WITH A RECOGNISED YOUTH & COMMUNITY WORK QUALIFICATION.
We also want An Assistant Youth Worker to start in ASAP. We would like individuals with the following minimum skills and abilities
• Good written & verbal communication skill
• Ability to engage well with individual and group of young people
• An awareness of the issues facing young people.
• A commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.
Salary: YW £8.50 per hr AYW £6.50 per hr
Purpose of post:
1. To provide outreach (outdoor) and centre-based activities for young people in a caring, safe, and trustworthy manner and to organize appropriate range of leisure activities for young people between the age of 13 and 19.

a. Identifying and Planning Activities
b. Identifying needs
c. Liaison with Parents
d. Supervision and care of children
e. Helping Young People to identify funders and complete funding applications
f. Recruiting and Training Young Volunteers (Age: 13 – 25)
Responsible to:
Both roles will report to the Chief Executive Officer with the Youth Worker having additional responsibility of supervising the Assistant Youth Worker.
Duties and Responsibilities
Activity Planning
• To provide safe, creative and appropriate play opportunities
(including activities preparation/supervision and the arrangement of equipments)
• To encourage community wide participation and activity planning and delivery
• To ensure that all activities are carried out within an equal opportunities framework.
• To work with young people in drawing of 1 to 3 years programmes for volunteering and play activities
• To help with the completion of funding application forms to keep the services going
• To perform outdoor outreach sessions as and when required
Liaison
• To develop and maintain good communications with parents
• To encourage parental involvement and support through the development of effective working relationships.
• To consult with the children and involve them in the planning of activities.
Supervision and care of young people
• Ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with statutory responsibilities.
• Ensure that food provision is carried out within the guidelines of the food safety act 1990
