Salary - £24 - 26k
Supervise and develop a team of 5 staff, ensuring that all UK employees and 4000 pensioners are paid in an accurate and timely manner in line with employees terms and conditions.
Ensure strict financial controls in the processing and financial postings of payroll and payments to third parties.
Assist the Payroll Manager in developing the department as a centre of excellence, exceeding the expectations of all internal and external customers.
Recognise the need for continual process improvements to increase process and cost efficiency
Ensure up to date expert knowledge of payroll legislation and developments to ensure that processes are fully compliant with legislation.
Work closely with stakeholders and team to ensure that processes are lean and effective.Adhere to the TQM Finance strategy.
Assist in the delivery of the TQM plan within Payroll whilst actively developing and engaging the team.Deputising and assisting the Payroll Manager where necessary.
You must have proven leadership skills and have the ability to act on your own initiative.
You will be reporting directly to the Payroll Manager and you will be responsible for the day to day payroll Operation.
Prior experience of a multisite large volume payroll, Payroll Reconciliations and SAP essential.
The successful candidate will ideally be IPP qualified (or studying towards)
