Monarch Education is currently looking to recruit for a Maths teacher to teach in a large secondary school in the Birmingham area. Your main duties will be to fulfill the responsibilities of a main scale teacher and to teach the National Curriculum to Key Stage 3 and 4.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:
Candidates should be fully qualified UK teachers, or, if from overseas, should hold a generally recognised teaching qualification from the country in which they trained.
Degree applicants are preferred but overseas Diploma and certificated teachers are encouraged to apply.
Applications are invited from both experienced teachers and newly qualified teachers.
Instructors are also welcome.

Knowledge and understanding
• Know and understand the values, aims and purposes of the general teaching requirements as set out in the National Curriculum and Excellence and Enjoyment handbook, in order to guide others
• Use ICT effectively, both through teaching the curriculum and to support the professional role i.e. electronic planning, emailing, using the Internet to keep pace with educational advancement etc.
• Ensuring up-to-date subject knowledge in area of specialism
• Provide effective ways of giving developmental feedback on lesson observation by attending appropriate training
• Create and maintain a portfolio of evidence of work undertaken in home and in other schools

Teaching and learning
• Have a full understanding of connections and progressions in (subject)
• Quickly understand pupils’ perceptions and misconceptions from questions and responses
• Guide others in preparing lessons and sequences of lessons with clear objectives to ensure successful learning by all pupils
• Model the most effective teaching methods to achieve the teaching objective
• Understand and promote ICT in the teaching of subject/specialism(s)
• Display creative skills to engage, enthuse and challenge groups of pupils and to use questioning and explanation effectively to secure maximum progress
