Birmingham teaching / nursery
Required: voluntary teaching assistant and or learning support roles in primary schools nurserys
Hi
I am looking to undertake a voluntary role providing learning and/or teaching support, in order to gain some more experience before I start a PGCE course. I currently have a BA (hons) in Fashion Design, which I am looking to upgrade to do a PGCE in Early Years to become a qualified teacher within reception and key stage one. I have wanted to pursue this for a long time and now want to fully focus on this by studying and gaining some more experience to add to my current repertoire. I am more than willing to provide an enhanced disclosure in order to work with young people.
I have previous experience in working with young people, particularly with the 3-5 age range but also with 7 – 9 year olds. This was in an education based summer camp held in the grounds of a private school, where we had responsibility for all children on the camp from 8 am onwards until 6pm, my position there was as a group leader. It was my job to engage children, make up activities, help students with reading and generally supervise them while they learnt and played together. Giving them one on one support as required.
Due to my own skills, as well as encouraging participation and learning with all activities and games, I led art and crafts activities, focussing on weekly topics like ‘Space’ or ‘the Earth’ and compiling activities to coincide whether it was drawing, painting, games or costume/ face painting. I am confident in being able to help students and use my knowledge and skills to engage and involve all. I am a confident reader and enjoy books, an enjoyment that can be passed on to the students I would be supporting. I am a patient and level headed person who is tolerant and ready to work hard in a supporting role, with many skills.
I am local to many areas of Birmingham, and am keen to help out in all aspects. I feel my IT skills would be of use in your school as I am confident in many software packages like Internet Explorer, Firefox and email as well as Word, Excel, Photoshop and PowerPoint. I would be able to do anything required like worksheets, posters, and marking/ reading records.
I am ideally looking for some long term role/s until my PGCE in early years commences in September 2010, in order to fully gain experience with a wide range of children and abilities. I am keen to develop on my previous experience and am able to fully commit to any role as I have just been made redundant and so fully flexible. I am confident in hitting the ground running and being an asset to your school.
I am happy to send you a CV on request.
Thanks
Stephanie
