THIS POSITION IS BASED IN BIRMINGHAM.
THE SALARY IS UP TO £30,000 PER ANNUM.

Job Description:

The candidate will carry out design and supervison of public transport and highways related infrastructure projects for key client Centro. The work is part of a long term consultancy agreement to provide engineering, architecture and project management services for which a dedicated design team is in place. Projects come from Centro’s capital works programme for the development and improvement of public transport infrastructure in the West Midlands conurbation with the majority of work being in the area of bus station and interchange redevelopments and rail station park and ride schemes. It is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to further grow this capability and compete for similar work elsewhere in the UK. There may be oppoertunities to work on similair projects for other clients in the future.

Requirements:

- An HNC or other relevant qualification in a Civil Engineering discipline.
- Design experience on public sector transport projects.
- Design experience in highway and / or transportation infrastructure design.
- Working knowledge of bus station and interchange design requirements.
- Ability to undertake role as Site Supervisor under NEC Experience of site supervison of public transport infrastructure projects.
- Working knowledge of Design Manual for Roads & Bridges (DMRB) standards.
- Conversant with the Microsoft Office suite and specialist design related programs (eg. AutoCad, MX or Windes).
- Working knowledge of requriements of CDM2007 and of safety requriements for the development and implementation of transportation projects.

Responsibilities:

- Provision of technical design to produce innovative public transport and highway infrastructure design solutions.
- Provison of support to Technicians and Junior Technicians engaged on highway related transportation project Provision of Site Supervison role under NEC on transportation projects

The Individual:

A self-motivated individual with good organisation and communication skills. Desire to develop existing skills and acquire new technical competence to enhance team capability. An ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadlines and deliver an excellent service to customers.
