CAREER HISTORY
16/02/2005 09/01/2009: Lotus Notes Case Management enhancements for The National Probation Service, West Midlands.
 Lotus Notes Development role to enhance the existing case management system to ensure it is compliant with the Home Office directives relating the Criminal Justice Act and able to support the courts and probation service in the management of offenders. During this contract I have done extensive re-writes to existing lotus script code to provide a modular approach and improve performance and reliability of code. Developed an application for managing and scheduling nightly automated tasks which includes an self audit log which is used by support teams to tackle any potential issues within the production environment. This application has brought significant savings to the company since they now can control the running of overnight tasks in-house rather than having to rely on, and pay their external service provider each time they wish to alter the running of an overnight processing task. Currently I am working on major migration project where one of my roles was to develop a data migration tool which has been used to export data from a suite of very large Lotus Notes databases into a new relational database developed in Oracle. Based on the fact that the application is for the Probation Service West Midlands and the nature of the data contained within the database, it has been crucial that the accuracy and relationships between data items exported was maintained during the export process.
15/11/2004 28/01/2005: Lotus Notes R6 Migration Project TNT Express Worldwide
Lotus Notes Migration Support and Development R5 to 6.5.2. This project initially consisted of installing the R6 client to approx 150 workstations to bring the remainder of users up to date. On completion of that task I developed an automated reporting application to analyse the quality of data within the lotus notes name and address book and provide a variety of outputs.
Made some enhancements to an existing change control application to provide an automated but user customised export utility which allows data to be extracted from the application at user selected times and stored as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
April 2004 to November 2004:
Sabbatical & time off to complete some DIY and gardening work at my home.
Sept 2003 30/03/2004: Working for Powergen plc modifying existing Access databases and developing new applications for the Retail Industrial & Commercial Division. Also providing support to the existing Lotus Notes applications.
Developed an MS Access/VBA application for Powergen/E.on to manage the logging and actioning industry data flows that relate to the failure of reading customer half hourly and Non-half hourly electricity meters. This is to assist the management of issues relating to meter reading failures for Powergen customers. This involved a front-end Access database working with an Oracle back end database.
Made modifications to numerous end-user database applications to change existing SQL queries and reports to ensure that, post company merger, the reports users had created would now include data from the merged companys Ingress database tables.
July September 2003 - Lotus Notes Release 4 to Release 6 Migration for Dupont in Redcar, Teesside
A Major Notes R4 to R6 Migration project for Dupont in Redcar Teesside. The work involves auditing existing R4 applications to identify any issues in the codes. Making the modifications to code and testing pre and post migration before release.
