A well establish national engineering business, specialising in contracted services across a multitude of trade disciplines for a number of blue chip clients are currently looking for a Recruitment Specialist with an immediate start.
Position: HR Recruitment Specialist (Temporary 6 - 9 months)
Location: Flexible, but must be able to commute to Birmingham offices at least twice a week
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000
Duration: Fixed Term Contract 6 - 9 months
ROLE:
Our client is looking to recruit someone to work in there busy HR department for a period of 6 - 9 months, with immediate start. Reporting into the HR Director you will provide a comprehensive support service for all areas of recruitment.
The ideal candidate would have worked as a HR professional specifically tasked with recruitment and sourcing in the past, or a Recruitment Consultant who is looking to get some exposure into the HR environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Produce job specifications, descriptions and job advertisements.
b) Recruit external talent by utilising low cost channels, advertising vacancies using all media and techniques available, e.g. job centres, internet job boards, EEF vacancy board, local/national/job specific publications, head-hunting etc. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date Vacancy Record Sheet, to ensure readily accessible recruitment progress information is available. Record all received applications on the Vacancy Record Sheet, and acknowledge accordingly.
c) Develop MPC (Market Place Candidate) campaigns and provide market intelligence.
d) Prepare and deliver effective head-hunting presentations.
e) Identify, target and qualify potential candidates. Schedule initial interviews, ensuring arrangements are communicated to all relevant parties, e.g. candidate, interviewer, and any required facilities are equipped.
f) Co-ordinate any necessary personality, competency or ability screenings and/or assessments, and facilitate feedback.
g) Interview and present candidates, identifying those for the final stage.
h) Manage candidates through to offer and acceptance, including briefing, debriefing, offer negotiations and counter offer counselling. Prepare and issue offer of employment letters, statement of employment particulars, and induction packs.
i) Ensure all relevant new employment documentation is completed and returned by the candidate.
j) Ensure personnel files are created, e.g. Equator (HR database) and a manual personnel folder, and the new employee data is communicated to relevant parties, e.g. Wages Department.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Previous experience in the service / engineering industry is essential, recruiting specifically for engineers, but also more senior roles.
b) Previous working experience of the interview and selection process, within either a recruitment or HR department environment, specifically within the permanent market.
c) Good interviewing and questioning skills a clear understanding of the importance of complying with legal obligations and the promotion of equal opportunities.
d) Proactively manages campaigns and work assignments, taking into account changes in circumstances and the working environment.
e) Ability to recruit staff of a high calibre.
f) Projects credibility and builds wide and effective network of contacts inside, and outside, the organisation.
